Bringing Tuscan food here

The Tuscan Kitchen is getting back into business again under Jenny and Franco (pictured above) by opening on Thursday and Friday nights (from 6 t0 11:30pm) and Saturday (7-11:30pm) as well as Sunday lunch (11am-4pm) – but the hours may increase.

The food is often traditionally Tuscan, featuring ribollita – a hearty bread soup with black cabbage, cannellini beans, carrots, celery, potato and tomato – along with toasted ciabatta – most of which can be sourced locally, though perhaps not all.

The lengthy and detailed menu outside the front door highlights spezzatino alla senese, a slow cooked stew with veal, Florentine style peas, ham, garlic, shallots and parsley – more than enough to keep TV Italian detective, Inspector Montalbano, busy for a very long meal. And, of course, there is pasta of all sorts – along with some delicious desserts. (Source: Tuscan Kitchen)

  1. In 2009 a wonderful & generous friend took us to the Tuscan Kitchen as an anniversary gift. It was a memorable evening and one of the best meals we’ve had in the UK. Bravo to Franco & Jen for re-opening!
