The third annual LandLove Magazine Awards celebrate the very best things about the British countryside and the people who make it so wonderful. There were almost 40,000 votes over 12 categories, from Britain’s favourite cathedral, garden and nature reserve to seaside town, food producer and animal charity.

Now in its 48th year, the nature reserve has worked in partnership with several organisations and landowners, to create a special place that is visited by 300,000 people a year. There is easy access for all visitors to view the abundant wildlife, including five birdwatching hides (one of which can be seen above) that are wheelchair accessible.

Visitors can experience shingle, saltmarsh, saline lagoons, grazing marsh and reedbed habitats with more than 90 species of nesting bird and an extraordinary list of rare plants and animals.
