With the St Michael’s Hospice Open Garden 2023 season just around the corner, why not get some day trips with family and friends in the diary and enjoy some fresh air, find inspiration for your own garden, and enjoy delicious cakes and refreshments?

The season kicks off with a visit to Ticehurst on Tuesday May 9 (10.30am – 4pm) and span the breadth of Hastings and Rother and further afield. This year 55 spectacular gardens will be opening their gates in aid of the hospice across 15 days from May – August 2023.

In May you can explore 13 open gardens across four locations: Ticehurst on Tuesday May 9, Biddenden on Saturday May 13, Sedlescombe on Saturday May 20 and Ninfield on Tuesday May 23. The hospice open garden events give the public the opportunity to explore beautiful private gardens for inspiration and learn new skills whilst raising vital funds for the hospice in St Leonards-on-Sea.

Pick up an open gardens 2023 booklet today for just £1 from all hospice shops, the hospice reception, or select stockists across Hastings and Rother, for full details of the 2023 calendar.

Open gardens season tickets are currently available to purchase for £50 per person (until 10th June). Each season ticket entitles the recipient free entry into all hospice open gardens locations this year (excluding Sarah Raven’s cutting garden in Brightling) and make the perfect gift for the green fingered people in your life. “We can’t wait for the new season to begin. Myself and all of our wonderful volunteers are already prepping everything, ready to make your visits to these wonderful gardens, lovely days out. We have hot drinks, cakes, a fabulous raffle (with a £250 top prize!), a stall with goodies for sale and at the majority of the gardens there will be some lovely music to enjoy. We look forward to seeing you there,” said Laura Sully, senior community and events fundraiser at St Michael’s Hospice.
