Some 15 months after assuming command and with all hands on deck, the Pugwash Planters at Rye Station have transformed the John Ryan memorial garden, making it a much more pleasurable place to sit and watch the world go by.
The small rail side garden and bench is widely used by locals and visitors, and the kind and positive comments passed onto the Pugwash Planters by members of the public while working on the garden “has warmed the cockles of our hearts” said a member of the crew.
In recent months wooden planters have been added to the station platform These have been very kindly sponsored by Garden Gems who have been extremely generous and helpful in making the planters look stunning, it is hoped more planters will be added to the platform in the near future.
