The members of Playden Women’s Institute give a big thank you to John Holbrook for hosting one of his renowned curry evenings on Saturday, November 26 in aid of their WI Hall funds. The event was so popular that at the eleventh hour the venue had to be switched from the WI Hall to the community centre due to being oversubscribed. There were many assorted curry dishes and delicious desserts and guests were entertained with a light-hearted quiz devised by Amy Breeds.
The WI greatly appreciate the hard work of all the helpers, the donations of raffle prizes and give thanks to all the supporters. The event raised over £800 towards the cost of maintaining the Playden WI Hall.
