The Rye and Winchelsea Rotary Club had a busy time in the lead up to Christmas with their annual Christmas collection in very varied inclement weather conditions. The main beneficiaries of this year’s collection will be St Michael’s Hospice, Rye and District Community Transport, Rye Foodbank and Rother Responders.

President Bill Coleman said: “The generosity of the local community has been magnificent. Our collection this year has raised over £1,800, exceeding all previous collections and will help us to provide support those in need within our local community. Given the extremely difficult economic circumstances everybody is experiencing at this time we would like to thank everyone for their generous support”. He went on to say, “as the year draws to a close may I also thank the local businesses who have helped with sponsorship and practical support throughout the year and wish you all a happy new year”.
