Sun and song – better together

The Music Well’s “Singing for Wellbeing” group met in person for the first time on Tuesday,  June 8, a full 10 months since their last in-person session. Louise Fletcher the charismatic, multi-talented leader of the group has been running virtual sessions via Zoom every week during lockdown. The regular Zoomers are indebted to her dedication but hugely relieved that they can actually see and hear each other as a group, albeit outside and socially distanced.

The Music Well has been ensuring as many people as possible benefit from its work and has been conducting a range of online sessions – singing for better breathing, children’s singing groups, drumming, music appreciation and meditation sessions to name but a few. It is now keen to engage in as many face-to-face sessions as possible and rekindle its important music therapy work in-person.

It is planning to hold its annual garden party at Little Orchard House on Sunday, July 11. Everyone is welcome with payment on the door and a plentiful array of food and drink to buy and enjoy whilst listening to the various musical attractions during the day.

  3. I have joined this lovely group on the odd occasion when not working and it’s just great! Louise is such an inspiring person giving her time and encouraging all to get involved! Thanks to Niki for all she does behind the scenes! Having been to the annual garden party it’s definitely something not to be missed!

  4. Oh No! Huge apologies to everyone who was planning a Sunday of music and cream tea on Sunday! As restrictions are still in place, owing to the Pandemic, The Music Well has postponed its Open Garden until 1st August.
I think there is something else to occupy you on 11th July, is football coming home?
We look forward to seeing you and your friends and family from 11.30am on 1st August. Please come and join us at Little Orchard House, 3 West Street.
Stay safe and keep on singing until then.
