This week sees the start of a new series in Rye News. Chief reporter Kt Bruce is going to be interviewing well-known people around Rye for Three Degrees of Curiosity – where all the questions get three short answers. No long-winded responses, no lengthy paragraphs. Just simple replies that we hope will show a different and unexpected side of each interviewee.

So who better to start the series than the Mayor of Rye, Councillor Chris Hoggart. He has been in post for nearly two months now and has been seen supporting so many of Rye’s wonderful events. At the last meeting of Rye Town Council, he summed up his first few weeks by referring to a song by Johnny Cash, I’ve been everywhere. So who is the person behind the public image?
