Led by the new mayor, Jurat David Merrifield, Winchelsea turned out in force for the jubilee beacon lighting on June 2.
After a reception in the flag-decked New Hall, everyone followed flaming torches across the fields to the newly refurbished beacon, led by bagpiper, Roddy Livingstone.
The weekend ended with a Big Jubilee Picnic on Winchelsea cricket field, to the accompaniment of the Hooe Village Band. A display by East Surrey Morris Dancers brought the day to a happy conclusion.
