Students at Rye College are celebrating their achievements and looking ahead to their next steps after receiving their GCSE results this morning.
Rye College Year 11 students, supported by their teachers and families, have demonstrated considerable dedication throughout their studies and are now preparing to progress to a wide range of academic and vocational pathways.
Students at the school, which is part of Aquinas CE Education Trust, achieved particularly strong results in dance with 71% securing grades 5+, in fine art with 76% achieving 4+ and over 70% achieved 4+ in both English Literature and Language.
Following today’s results, students will move on to destinations including sixth forms, further education colleges, apprenticeships and training programmes. Their chosen pathways reflect the broad range of talents, interests and ambitions within the year group.
Among the individual successes being celebrated are:
- Charis Lane, who achieved an exceptional nine grade 9s and will be studying English literature, French and religious studies at Bexhill College.
- Lerryn Deaves, who achieved six grade 9s, three grade 8s and one each of grade 7 and 5, and will be completing psychology, English literature and animal management L3 at Bexhill College.
- Daisy Chester-Linskey, who achieved five grade 9s, four grade 8s and one each of grade 7 and 5 and will be studying mathematics, further maths, English literature and psychology with East Sussex College.
- Cindy He, who achieved five grade 9s and four grade 8s, will attending Bexhill College to study English literature, mathematics, and psychology.
- Harper Treacy, who achieved one grade 9, five grade 8s, two grade 7s and one grade six and will be progressing to Highworth and Norton Knatchbull.
- Rhys Vicarey, who achieved five grade 8s, two grade 7s and one grade 6, alongside a double distinction in engineering, and will be studying mathematics, physics and computer science at Bexhill College.
