The chamber’s diary of events in 2023 came to an end with a delightful get-together at The Mermaid. We were greeted by Mermaid staff dressed in their Christmas waistcoats and Jane Brooks, Sarah Broadbent and Elise Garner from the chamber. The networking events have been very popular this year and many friendships have been forged. The key message that has emerged throughout this year is that everyone is willing to help and support each other’s businesses and this strengthens the chamber.

Thanks were posted on the WhatsApp group and the consensus was that it was a great evening.

Jen, Frances and Emily from Rockpool posted this:
“Thank you for a lovely evening Jane, Sarah and Elise, thank you to Martin & Judith for the hospitality and to you, Kt Bruce for the lovely chat and photos. The staff were absolutely brilliant too! I can safely say that this chamber of commerce bears zero resemblance to the one I used to be a member of back in the mid 2000s. Safe to say it was stale, unwelcoming and the word fun wouldn’t be used to describe any of the events!

“I have been to enough networking events to know that real, valuable connections and working relationships are formed much more strongly when people are relaxed and being themselves and the chamber of commerce you have created allows for that, so thank you. The events you organise are diverse and enjoyable and it never feels a chore to attend. The atmosphere is more like a social where any business connections made are not expected, but an added bonus! “

So here’s to lots more collaborations and networking and an even stronger chamber for 2024.
