The East Sussex Arts Club 2019 Summer Exhibition will be held at the Stade Hall May 25 to 29 (open 10am to 5pm daily, admission free) and it is expected that at least 25 club members will exhibit a total of at least 130 paintings.

The Hastings-based club was formed in 1890. Over the years it has had many renowned artists as members including George Graham, Alfred Edward
Jackson, Violet Vicat Cole, Charles Cundall and Hesketh Hubbard, to name but a few, and early patrons included Princess Louise, Duchess of Argyle (1848-1939, fourth daughter of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert).

The club currently has more than 60 members and the President is Dr Richard Manwaring Baines, past president of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.

The club is friendly and welcoming and meets on the second Saturday of each month at St Johns Church Hall, Brittany Road, St Leonards, for a variety of workshops, demonstrations and lectures for artists and those simply interested in art.
