Art gallery online auction

This past year has been a strange and difficult time for everyone, with the Covid-19 pandemic impacting in so many different ways on all of our lives. At Rye Art Gallery (RAG) we have been working hard behind the scenes to get ready for opening and are so looking forward to being able to welcome visitors as soon as we possibly can. But in the meantime RAG has been trying to maintain its support of gallery artists sales through the ‘art for sale’ section of its website, as it continues to remain open virtually.

In addition, as part of RAG’s fundraising strategy for the gallery, it is staging an online auction of artworks drawn from an array of pieces from its stores including prints, ceramics and paintings.

But this does not form a part of its commercial operations. Revenues generated from this auction will be set aside and added to the charitable donations used to conserve our permanent collections and maintain the historic buildings operated by the Rye Art Gallery Trust. Some gallery friends, artists, trustees and supporters have also donated artworks for this auction to help us raise additional funds.

If you would like to contribute and help us in this way please do get in touch: Email: ryeartgallery@gmail.com or telephone Julian Day on 07850 971 964 to discuss. The auction will include artworks from an array of pieces from our stores including prints, posters and paintings. At present we have 50 lots, and the number is growing. The auction starts on Friday, March 5 at 10am and it will end on Monday, March 29 at 10am.
