To celebrate the launch of the Rye Society of Artists’ (RSA) new website, Rye News continues to profile one of their artists each week – including links to their website and social media accounts so you can keep up-to-date on their activities.

You can view some of the RSA members’ work at their spring exhibition, entitled ‘There will be Growth in Spring‘, at Rye Art Gallery from April 12, 2021. In addition, the RSA will be hosting their 70th Anniversary Summer Show later in 2021.

This week, the artist in focus is Clive Garland

Clive Garland has travelled extensively throughout his life and now lives in an isolated environment in East Sussex. He uses his notes and memories garnered from his explorations to inspire construction of work in a variety of media. His work can manifest as small or large scale, the media is tempered with rationalisation, examination and investigation. His work conveys a uniquely personal and vibrant visual language.

You can see more of Clive’s work on the websites Singulart; Tate; and also on the RSA website
