A veritable amuse-bouche

On Wednesday afternoon at Lamb House the deliciously satisfied audience soaked up the extracts of EF Benson’s Mapp and Lucia novels read, or perhaps we should say acted, by Rosalyn Landor and Richard Crowest.

The audience were so au fait with the novels that they were chortling before the trademark Bensonisms were even delivered in full. An amused laughter filled the air throughout the event and everyone left in high spirits. Rosalyn and Richard worked very well together, bouncing off each other’s characters with ease.

Do not fear: if you missed this lovely quaint afternoon there is an EF Benson morning on Saturday, September 17. It will be a morning of investigating his life, works and circle.
