Join us at Whitehouse for the first of our afternoon craft workshops. The class is perfect for beginners who want to learn the craft of contemporary lampshade making. You’ll learn how to apply the lampshade to get the best out of your fabric, how to attach the rings and create neat rolled edges, amongst a variety of other techniques.

You will make a fabric lampshade which can be used on a lamp base or ceiling pendant. By the end of the workshop you will get to go home with your very own bespoke lampshade and will have the skills to create many more beautiful shades!

£70 per person- includes all materials, coffee and a 15% discount for lunch at Whitehouse.

Whitehouse on Rye High Street

About me

I studied textiles at the London College of Fashion and later illustration at the London College of Printing, providing the foundation of my work repairing and sourcing antique textiles and making bespoke men’s hats in a small west London studio collective.

Having moved to a farm in Suffolk I have focused on creating natural plant dyes, quilting and block printing onto fabric.

Imogen Aldous

My work and teaching focuses on using what we find around us to make beautiful things, to give old life to new and create future heirlooms to be passed on.

The workshop is on Thursday, June 9 from 3pm to 6pm but spaces are limited to ten people so to book please email info@whitehouserye.co.uk.

The Whitehouse is at 24 High Street, Rye, TN31 7JF
