The Red Door Art Gallery will finally be re-opening their red door in Cinque Ports Street with a fabulous exhibition by local printmaker, Caroline Macey. Her solo show, entitled “Strange Times”, runs from Wednesday, July 22 to Monday, August 3.

After a career in arts education and over twenty five years as a practising artist, Caroline moved from London in 2002 to set up a printmaking studio in Hastings and life drawing classes in Three Oaks, East Sussex. All this has of course been affected by the “Strange Times” we are living through.

The tales Caroline tells range from the personal to the political, but are informed by careful research and attention to detail. Her inspiration comes through the working and reworking of images, exploring the imagined and real obsessions that define the structure of our often disturbing society.

Do come and see her beautiful, intricate and thought-provoking work. Normal opening times are Wednesday to Monday 11am-5pm (closed Tuesdays).

Due to the Covid-19 situation there are now a couple of available exhibition slots this year – September 2 – 14 and September 30 – October 12. These are heavily discounted. If you are interested please contact tina@reddoorrye.com. Further information on exhibiting can be found at the website.
