The annual exhibition of the Tuesday Painters is open for business at St Mary’s Centre until August 31. Almost 200 works are on show, many available to buy, including paintings, prints and mixed media. The Tuesday Painters Club was formed in 1961 for local amateur artists. It has about 130 members and this is its 52nd exhibition.

Linda Graham’s lino prints were popular with the visitors on the preview day and I enjoyed Liz Trowbridge’s Mapp and Lucia.

There were many local scenes, Dungeness, Camber Castle and Rye. But also some more exotic subjects such as wolves and polar bears!

A special display honours the memory of members who have died since the previous exhibition; Pam Howell, AF Caldwell, Mary Nix and Beryl Bell.

The exhibition is open from 10am to 6pm, every day and costs 50p to visit.
