Rye Castle Museum is holding a children’s event this Wednesday August 26 from 2pm to4pm at their East Street site. The cost is £2 per child. Entertainment is being organised and children aged between four and 10, should be accompanied by an adult. Older children however might find the Ypres Tower interesting (open 10:30am-5pm) as there are “hands on” things to do like trying to shoot a long bow, as well as pirates, smugglers and a model of our changing coastline. Adults might find two museum leaflets useful:  Mapp & Lucia’s Rye (and where it was all filmed by the BBC), and the Huguenots in Rye. These are available at the East Street museum and could come in handy when ambling around town.
