John Bradford has been re-elected as a Camber parish councillor. The former chairman, who has twice been thrown off the council for not attending meetings, won two thirds of the votes cast during the election on Thursday, August 24.
He recorded 111 votes against his opponent Brenda Snashall, who received 48. The turnout at 18% was extremely low, with just 160 votes cast, one vote was rejected.
For John Bradford it’s a return to the parish council after being voted off by fellow councillors in both November 2022 and May this year. He says he’s looking forward to working with former colleagues once again. “I am delighted that Camber electors have had the opportunity to vote again and that I will now be returning to the parish council this September. I look forward to working collectively with fellow councillors in tackling the many issues that are of concern to residents.
“We will continue to work in partnership with Rother District Council, East Sussex County Council and the other statutory agencies that provide amenities and facilities for local people, businesses, visitors and holiday makers.
