On Sunday, December 4 the New Inn, Winchelsea hosted a charity pub quiz and raffle in aid of Demelza hospice care for children.

The New Inn was full to capacity with teams from both Winchelsea and Rye (even though it clashed with the England game). A brilliant night, a truly festive feel, good fun and for such a worthy cause. The event raised £503 and pictured is Paul Ramsey of the New Inn handing over the cheque to Darcey Newbold from Demelza.

Thank you so much to all of those who attended / supported the evening and The New Inn, Winchelsea Little Shop, Rye Retreat, Paws and Claws, and Simply Italian for your generous raffle prizes.

  1. Thanks for posting this story.

Paul and Debby – and their hardworking team at “The New Inn” – do much to support both the town of Winchelsea and our local charities. They are a significant asset to our community.

Some of their hard work is perhaps not always appreciated by us locals – I include myself in this.

I hope the people of Winchelsea will support them during the festive season and beyond – by the simple act of popping into “The New Inn” over Christmas with family or friends (and dogs !) for a meal or a few drinks.

We will be doing precisely that – and I hope to see you there.
