Christmas lights’ missing link

Market Road, one of the main thoroughfares in the centre of Rye leading to the citadel, has Christmas lights at the top and bottom of the road.  The middle is left without any Christmas lights on the Rye Literary Institute (Rye Club). The Institute has not been approached to ask  if it would have lights on the club, which is one of the dominant buildings in Market Road, though the Institute’s organisers would make a donation toward the cost.

The club building is said by many people to be a dull looking building and it would be nice to brighten it up for Christmas.
For many Christmases the rotary club has been next to the club raising funds for its good causes.
