At the Rye Town Council meeting on Monday 11 May, Covid jabs and the town’s vaccination centre were raised.

The UK is offering a free spring 2026 COVID-19 booster to individuals at high risk of severe illness, including adults aged 75 and over, care home residents and those aged six months plus with weakened immune systems. Appointments for the updated vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna, or Sanofi) are now available.

The Rye Vax Centre at Tilling Green has not been asked by NHS England to open for this session.

Key Details for the Spring 2026 Covid jab Campaign:
Eligibility: People aged 75 and over (by June 30, 2026), residents in older adult care homes, and individuals aged 6 months+ with weakened immune systems.
Timing: Booster doses are recommended around six months after the last dose, though they can be given as soon as three months.
Vaccines: Updated vaccines targeting recent Omicron strains will be used.
Other Vaccines: Some individuals over 75 may also be offered an RSV.
