Hello Herbie II to the rescue

Rye Harbour’s new RNLI lifeboat, Hello Herbie II, launched at 8:25pm on July 7 to assist with a 24-year-old woman who had been thrown from her horse at Camber Sands. The boat quickly arrived on the scene but the casualty was being dealt with by coastguards and ambulance crews on shore.
This was the first launch for the Rye Harbour crew utilising their new Atlantic 85 lifeboat.

At 8:40pm the lifeboat was released and returned to station.

Rye Harbour volunteers are still working hard to cover the cost of the new lifeboat. Anyone wishing to make a small donation can text RHLB85 £10 to 70070 or visit our Just Giving page.

Our Open Day is on July 22 between 10am and 4pm. All are welcome.
