Jempson’s 90th celebratory event began in their three stores in Peasmarsh, Rye and Battle on Monday, June 9. There were daily in-store samplings from local food heroes, and big brand support, including Thatcher’s Cider, Red Bull and Diageo drinks. These proved to be popular especially for local businesses which Jempson’s is very keen to promote.
Last weekend, June 14, Peasmarsh hosted a local market, with a children’s carousel, and lots more samplings. It drew in the crowds.
Friday, June 20 will be an exciting day. Jempson’s Peasmarsh is rolling out the red carpet for a culinary superstar! By popular demand, world-renowned chef and TV personality James Martin is returning to celebrate Jempson’s 90th anniversary in style. Fans of James’s cooking and charm can look forward to an hour of live demonstrations, engaging banter and plenty of laughs as he shares his kitchen expertise. They will also have live music from the up-and-coming Kate Harding.
On Saturday, June 21 the Peasmarsh store will be having a Korkers barbecue, alongside a local market, with an array of potential new suppliers giving away samples of their food and drink. Jempson’s management warmly invites you to come along and explain what you would like to see in the stores: this is your opportunity to have a voice and influence choices. T
Tastings and special offers continue at Jempson’s and there’s a chance to enter into the raffle, with prizes kindly donated by local businesses and suppliers.
