Students from both Rye College and Rye Community Primary School received a visit from our local MP Sally-Ann Hart.

Mrs Hart enjoyed a tour of both schools, and time with their respective student councils, discussing key issues of concern including the economy, the employment sector, social care, the environment, the arts, equality, diversity and cyber-security.

Executive head of Rye College and Community Primary School, Barry Blakelock, said,
“It is always a pleasure to meet a local MP, and for our young people to engage with issues of local democracy. Mrs Hart was impressed with our students’ resilience and positivity after the recent challenges, along with their passion and eloquence in the discussions they had with her.”

Visiting both schools after such a turbulent time, Mrs Hart saw how the focus was very much on the classroom and a return to normal school life for students.
