This Saturday, August 15 could see some barmy moments like last year’s dog racing (pictured above) amidst a balmy atmosphere – if the weather is kind – at the Rye Country Show out at Lea Barn Farm at Rye Foreign on the edge of town, 10am-4pm, which this year for the first time is a fundraiser for St Michael’s Hospice. The show includes competitions for dogs and horses and entries for the former are taken on the day. The horse show includes extra classes this year, some of which are qualifiers for the Sunshine Tour Championships at Hickstead. Displays include the Coakham Bloodhounds and the 1066 Falconry, and other attractions include the Pimms Bar and the Grand Raffle as well as, of course, the Classic Car Show. So there is something for everyone, including entertainment, music, stalls and various food choices. More details can be found here.
