After gaining their first win of the season the previous week, the 2nd team of Icklesham Casuals were hoping to move within one point of their 10th-place rivals Bexhill Spartans.
The side got off to a flying start on Saturday, December 17, with two goals in the opening five minutes from striker Lee Pierce. Chances were then created at both ends before Ollie Beaumont, with two fine finishes in the space of two minutes as half-time approached, gave the Casuals a commanding 4-0 lead at the break.
The second period saw one goal for each team with Kieran Dighton netting his first Icklesham goal. The match ended 5-1 which means Casuals end the year 1 point nearer to 10th place in the East Sussex Football League Division 5.
The 1st team match against Little Common II was postponed.
Icklesham Casuals’ next games are on Saturday, January 7, 2017, as the 1st team host Hertsmonceux whilst the 2nd team travel away to face Battle Baptists 3rds.
