Rye will be awash with rockabillies this weekend, November 10-12, with the 1950s festival Rhythm Riot hosting its annual get together at Pontins Holiday Centre in Camber.
This year Rhythm Riot celebrates its 21st anniversary with a packed line-up of 1950s rhythm and blues, roots and rock ‘n’ roll bands drawn from all over the world.
In addition to the busy music line-up, performing over three venues within Pontins, there will also be a huge vintage clothing and collectibles mall, a retro flea market, mid-century art gallery and a classic beauty parlour.
On the morning of Sunday, November 12 the rockabillies will form a convoy and will drive through Rye in a classic car parade. The parade will travel along the High Street, circle the town and park up in the station car park where you will be invited to look under the bonnets of the cars.
