To mark well over 15,000 jabs since the end of May, Rye Town Council awarded the 50 or so volunteers of the Rye vaccination centre a testimonial to mark their appreciation for the service in Rye.

Rye mayor, Councillor Rebekah Gilbert presented the award at a special council meeting on Friday, November 12. With Anthony Kimber (REACT) and Ankit Tyagyi (lead from Clarity Chemists), both of whom had worked to bring vaccinations to Rye, looking on, volunteer coordinators, Tamsin Visick and Chrissy Rodger received the award on behalf of all the volunteers. Sadly Covid-19 rules meant that only a small delegation could attend.

Anthony Kimber responded for the volunteers with grateful thanks, underlining the superb efforts and commitment from the volunteers who come from all across Rye district. He noted that the volunteers were only one component of the centre. He cited the clinical vaccinators, the staff of Rye Partnership and importantly the wonderful team from Clarity Chemists locally led by Ankit, but including Hardik from Ticehurst, Tejas, Vinas and Shubham. All the groups work in harmony to deliver the jabs.
