David Roder was presented with his ninth certificate from CAMRA on Tuesday June 23 for South-East Sussex Pub of the Year.
Everyone agreed that the award is well-deserved. The Waterworks is a community pub where people forge new friendships and a great choice of ales and ciders is on offer. It is the heart of Rye.
Roger Green, vice-chair of CAMRA South-East Sussex Branch, presented the award to David as he said: “All the pubs in Sussex are entered into the competition and then there is a shortlist and finally the coveted prize of Pub of the Year is awarded. David Roder’s Waterworks was a popular winner.”
As anyone could see on the night, the Waterworks is a popular destination for visitors and Ryers as they know there will be a warm welcome, great conversation and amazing ales and cider. Everyone was thrilled for David and his team. For David it is all about the team which is his ‘backbone’ and of which he is very proud. Congratulations!
