Banking on the hoof

I know this subject has been covered by Rye News in the past but things can often get forgotten and I thought it worth mentioning again as an aide-memoire.

With the demise of high street bank branches in recent years, the knock-on effect has been felt by all of us, customers and local traders alike and as online banking continues to take poll position over traditional methods, I have no doubt that branch numbers will continue to fall.

But every Wednesday, the Lloyds Bank mobile unit is available if you need it, positioned normally near Channons at the Rope Walk end of the cattle market carpark, a useful service but from what I witnessed, very underused. I imagine it’s another case of use it or lose it, but time will tell.
