In the last few days I have come across two young teenagers who have shown an interest in taking better photos. I was wearing my Rye News reporter’s hat at the time of both encounters so I asked if they would be willing to cover an event each that I, too, would be covering for the paper.
Both seemed keen and on Sunday Charlie met me with his mother at the Senlac Classic Car Show at Rye Rugby Club (see article also in this week’s paper). I gave him a brief and a few ideas and off they went. We did cross paths from time to time and I was really impressed to see how Charlie was looking for unusual angles before he took a shot. He even did a Kt pose and laid on the floor! This article is to highlight both the photographers’ work and to congratulate them on taking up the challenge.

I was introduced to Finn at a function I was covering and he showed an interest in taking better shots. On Monday, Paul Goring organised the celebrations for Sussex Day which I was covering both photographically and capturing videos for a video in Showcasing Rye!
Finn was really responsive to the brief and came up with some great shots. He was able to take photos when I was videoing so he was a great assistant.

Earlier this year I worked with Paige and am looking forward to working with her again in the summer. She is a natural and has some really great ideas for photos.

Thank you so much, KT, for being such a kind, patient, and enthusiastic mentor for our youth in Rye. You are truly a treasure!
