Bubbles, bargains and balloons

Last weekend, October 19-20 saw celebrations in full swing as 8 Market Street, now home to Concepts, celebrated its 200th birthday.

Jonathan Dellar and his team spent a lot of time planning and preparing for the celebrations. The first thing to catch your attention were the golden balloons bouncing around in the breeze along the exterior of the building guiding you in to where the celebrations were in full swing.

There was a choice of bubbly or soft drinks available, golden draw tickets and many items reduced by up to 20%, an ideal opportunity to stock up on those extra special Christmas gifts which are difficult to find elsewhere.

I arrived mid-afternoon and joined the crowd who had already descended, eagerly scanning through the merchandise, champagne flutes in hand, purses and wallets poised, heading for the cash desk.

Even some of the guests at the wedding in the Buttermarket opposite couldn’t resist popping in for a quick peep in all their finery before taking their positions with the lucky couple and posing for “the money shot”.

Jonathan and Mike were helped over the weekend by their team including Tara, Wendy, Corinne, Sarah and Sue who between them worked tirelessly to make the event such a great success.

Local and overseas customers soon filled the shop floor.

The Christmas stock is beginning to arrive, with lots of exciting new lines to tempt you with including the superb Neptune range and if you want something different then why not drop by and have a browse, call them on 01797 225222 or look online at www.conceptsrye.com. Secure yourselves an early bargain as at the time of writing, discounts were available on many items in store and on line.
