Walk off those winter blues with your four-legged friends at the St Michael’s Hospice annual 6k sponsored dog walk, at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.
Taking place on Saturday, March 8 from 9am, the walk takes in beautiful nature reserve scenery, as you walk from Rye Harbour village hall to the Mary Stanford lifeboat house and back again, along accessible footpaths. There is a marshalled walk which you can join if you’re unsure of the way at 10.30am.
Any pooch which raises £40 in sponsorship (not including Gift Aid) will automatically be entered into a prize draw to win a luxury doggy hamper. So why not dress up your pet pal, and yourself in some fun- themed fancy dress, and have some fun to start March with a spring in your step!
Tickets are £10 per dog. Find out more about Waggy Walk here or call

St Michael’s Hospice supports and enables the community of Hastings and Rother to live well with dying, death and loss. Our integrated multi-disciplinary teams deliver supportive care, symptom control and support to patients and families through our in-patient unit, wellbeing programme, hospice community outreach, specialist palliative care telephone support line, bereavement support and community support volunteers.
The hospice operates a donation centre in St Leonards-on-Sea where appointments can be made to drop off donations of pre-loved goods. In addition, there are 7 retail shops across the catchment area, including in Rye.
St Michael’s Hospice needs to raise £5.5 million a year to continue providing care and support to the community of Hastings and Rother. The services are free of charge.
