Rye Cookshop, owned by Nigel Bourne, is a finalist in the prestigious Housewares Innovation Awards 2018 competition.
His shop has been nominated for the Best Rising Star Award category in a competition sponsored by the Housewares magazine.
There are four finalists, one each from St Andrews, Scotland, Dublin, London and Rye, and the competition winner will be announced at the National Motorcycle Museum venue in Birmingham on February 5 next year.
This is the second time this year that the Rye Cookshop has gained national recognition, since it opened in September 2016.
The shop was a runner-up in the Excellence in Housewares Awards held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London on 4 October as reported in Rye News.
Nigel Bourne was the manager of Ironmongers Extraordinary on Hilders Cliff, before he started his own business after it closed.
