Rye Cricket Club are pleased to announce the sponsorship of Rush, Witt & Wilson of the junior section of Rye Cricket Club. Rush, Witt & Wilson have sponsored Rye cricket for 15 years, and are now fully involved in sponsoring the junior section. Last season over 80 % of the three Saturday League teams were made up of existing and former junior cricketers.

Rye is committed to growing its own players. Last Friday over 50 young people signed up for the forthcoming season, for either hard ball cricket playing in the Ashford League or developing their skills through softball cricket. The softball cricket runs from May 17 at the Cricket Salts, 6-7pm for 7-9 year olds and 7-8pm for 10-12 year olds.

Hardball practice is on Tuesday night 6-8pm for ages 9-13, and the U16s train on Wednesday night with the adults.

With the sponsorship of Rush, Witt & Wilson and funds from the Rye Fund and the Ted Baker Trust, Rye Cricket is running an After School Cricket Club at Rye Primary on Mondays. To get a young person involved this summer contact Martin Blincow on 07535482006 or blincsfamily@aol.com.

This Saturday the 1st Xl play their final pre-season fixture versus Epic CC, whilst the 2nd Xl travel to play Robertsbridge 1st Xl. The final chance to get ready for May 11 when Rye 1sts host St Peters 1st Xl and the 2nds travel to play Eastbourne 3rd Xl.
