Covid booster vaccinations end

The final session of the 2023 autumn Covid booster vaccinations is now complete and the NHS has closed its programme. Around 60,000 jabs have been delivered in the Rye Centre at Tilling Green since May 2001.

This has been a wonderful effort by Clarity chemists led by Ankit Tyagi, the professional vaccinators and a large number of community volunteers, in accommodation let by the Rye Partnership!

A few star volunteers have committed time throughout the whole period enabling the centre to be opened right to the end.

As a reminder of the importance of Covid vaccination, one of the last to receive a jab this week, was just out of hospital, where two months before, she had been admitted with the virus to intensive care.

With Covid cases being reported locally, we wait to see if there will be more phases of the Covid booster vaccinations next year. This will be dictated by the number of infections over the winter.

  1. Will there be a Covid vaccination in 2024? “This will be dictated by the number of infections over the winter.”
    – who will know? we’ve stopped testing.
    – who will know? to where does one report results?
    – who cares?
    – what changes?
