The owner of Pontins holiday park at Camber says it has submitted plans for the site to Rother District Council.
In an update shared with the Liverpool Echo, Britannia Homes says proposals for its three vacant sites at Prestatyn, Southport and Camber are now with planning authorities.
The news comes three months after Britannia said it had appointed consultants to come up with plans for the sites. Before that the last update on Camber was issued in late 2024.
Pontins in Camber, which closed suddenly in November 2023, used to attract 80,000 visitors to the 32-acre holiday camp.
In the latest statement the spokesperson for Britannia Hotels said, “We continue to undertake surveys, assessments and site management activities at our three vacant Pontins sites. This forms part of our work with an appointed planning consultancy to develop pre-application proposals. These have now been submitted to planning officers at the respective local authorities and we are awaiting dates to discuss their feedback. This will enable us to progress the proposals and secure positive long-term outcomes for all sites.”
So far no details have been listed on the Rother District Council planning website.
In the April update Britannia Hotels confirmed it had made the Camber site available to the emergency services for training.
