There was fun for all the family at the RNLI station at Rye Harbour at the weekend including a treasure hunt, a visit from the Dungeness Shannon-class offshore all-weather lifeboat and contributions from the Sussex Fire and Rescue and South Coast Ambulance services and the Rother Responders.

The aim of the open weekend, of course, was to support the work of the charity by fund raising and to increase awareness of its remarkable work and contribution. Richard Tollett, ifeboats operations manager at the harbour said: “The weekend has been very successful and, especially on Saturday, busier than in other years.”
