A comment received from reader John Tolhurst on last week’s story Covid-19 cases falling? said that Rye’s Primary School had been affected by the virus, and over last weekend the following comment was received from Rye College:

“Rye College can confirm we have had one student test positive for coronavirus. We understand this will be immensely frustrating for our students, families and wider community especially as youngsters were settling back into school after the recent break. Be assured, we have taken all necessary steps to minimise the risk to others.

“We have asked a number of close contacts to self-isolate and will begin to deliver remote education on Monday. Leaders are working with Public Health England to monitor the situation. We are committed to providing education in the safest way possible and will continue to follow the latest government guidance. Rye College thanks everyone for their continued support.”

  1. Picked up my grand daughter from Rye Primary School, and couldnt beleive how many parents were not wearing masks,of course some may be excempt but surely the school shouldn’t be letting in people without masks on, and to make things worse they have made a one way system through the play ground, with everyone leaving at the same time, not good house keeping in my opinion, as we all cannot wait for this pandemic to end.
