Rye Bonfire night in November is always a wonderful highlight of the year for Rye residents and those who travel far to join in. This amazing night requires a full year of fundraising, hard work and dedication from the Bonfire Society. Its members are always thinking of new ways of raising funds; their Mamma Mia sing-along evenings have been such a hit. Ingredients needed – a great film, a pinch of nostalgia, a few dressing-up clothes, then stir in, letting your hair down and a great group of friends mixing well together results in a fabulous evening.

Mamma Mia Here we go again

Barbs, who is one of the amazing team of fundraisers said: “Following the success of their Mamma Mia sing-along in January, Rye Bonfire Society once again transported those attending their fund-raising event on Friday, March 15 back to the Greek Islands with the movie sing-along Mamma Mia! Here we go again.

“Revellers were dressed up, with plenty of props, and all the well-known ABBA tunes were belted out and danced along to. A fun-filled, entertaining evening was enjoyed by all those present, and the Bonfire Society would like to thank everyone involved for making it such a success.

“The Bonfire Society’s next fund-raising event will be their Ultimate Eurovision Party. Details are on social media and judging by the success of their two sing-along movie nights, it will be another superb event.”
