This October in Fixtures.

The first of the autumn high tides spilled water over the edge of the Quay, as John Minter reported and October’s final week will see three more days of very high tides. Sandbags may be necessary. September was dominated by the Jazz and Arts Festivals and Alexander Stiller reviewed  the first piano concert in St Mary’s. Richard Hopper was out at sea reporting on the cruisers, while Rye Wheelers were cruising around 100km, as Paul Simpson writes. Rye’s many voluntary organisations were told how the Rye Fund can help them, while the summer wound down with the usual flower shows,as Morris Metcalf reports. A Marsh home on stilts featured on television and a cycle way opened, named after a cyclist who died in 2004.
