The brand new commission Libera Nos, by composer Polo Piatti, performed by the London Mozart Players (LMP), is an exciting concert taking place at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill on November 20, 2022 at 4pm. Polo Piatti is the director of the Opus Theatre in Hastings. He is an award- winning British-Argentine composer and concert pianist and one of the very few high-profile international musicians concentrating exclusively on the creation, performance and promotion of melodic, universally classical music. He is considered a leading neo-romantic composer for the concert hall. Polo believes that “harmonious music is able to generate positive emotions and in doing so, contribute greatly to a much better world today”.

Libera Nos (Free Us) is the world’s first multi-faith oratorio. In this exciting collaboration, LMP is joined by Hastings Sinfonia as well as over 150 local and regional musicians to help widen the work’s reach and divulge its universal message. Derek Carden will be conducting the Hastings Sinfonia, 50 singers from St Richard’s Catholic College Children’s Choir, the specially-formed Libera Nos Chorus, London Euphony Choir as well as five solo singers.

Polo Piatti says: “It is a real honour for me to have one of my major works premiered by one of the UK’s top chamber orchestras, London Mozart Players. I am sure this will be a very exciting concert, one that will be remembered for many years to come.” Polo describes the work as having its message based upon the observation that the wold has become a deeply divisive,  unjust and unhappy place because we continue disconnecting from each other.

London Mozart Players chief executive Flynn Le Brocq commented: “Over the past two years our residency, LMP by the Sea, has allowed us to reach thousands of people in Hastings and Bexhill with the transformational power of music, from the very young to the very elderly, many of whom had never experienced a classical concert before. This concert is for everyone, no matter your age, gender, race or religious belief, celebrating the talent to be found in the local community.” The hope is that the music will inspire all people of Bexhill, Hastings and beyond.
